Yeraly Tugzhanov chairs meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Spread of COVID-19

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov chaired a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Infection in Kazakhstan.

As a result of the meeting, a number of decisions were made:

1. The following activities should be allowed from March 1, 2021, in the regions located in the green zone for 7 days:

  • the work of circuses, billiard clubs, children's entertainment centers — up to 30% occupancy;
  • sports events (up to 30%), zhyma namaz (up to 30%) and commemoration events (up to 30%, no more than 50 people).

2. In regions located in the yellow zone for 7 days, covered markets (grocery, non-food), shopping and entertainment centers, trading houses, retail chains should be allowed to work on Sundays from March 1, 2021.

3.From March 1, 2021, the combined education of schoolchildren from grades 1 to 5, in international — from grades 1 to 7 should be allowed, with the exception of Mangystau, Kostanay, Zhambyl regions, where the largest number of violations of the sanitary and epidemiological regime was recorded as a result of the monitoring check in educational institutions.

The proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development to increase the number of international flights with Turkey (4 additional flights), Uzbekistan (+ 4 flights), Kyrgyzstan (+ 2 flights) and Ukraine (+1 flight) also received support from the commission.

In addition, the Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported on the progress of the development of the bill on biological safety.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov noted the need to adhere to the previously approved deadlines in agreement with all involved government agencies and the introduction of budget calculations for this bill.
