Prime Minister Askar Mamin visits Turkistan region and Shymkent with a working trip

In the course of his working trip to the Turkistan region and the city of Shymkent, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin familiarized himself with the work of life-support facilities, the transport infrastructure and the development of Turkistan.

In Turkistan, the prime minister monitored the development of the regional center.

Mamin got acquainted with the start of construction of a new international airport. The facility is located 16 km from the regional center and will be commissioned in December 2020. It is planned that the capacity of the terminal will be 3 million passengers per year.

The prime minister was presented the project of the future multi-regional medical center with 610 beds. The new hospital will be built jointly with foreign and domestic investors in the framework of public-private partnerships.

Askar Mamin studied plans for the location of offices. An ambulance station, an oncology and radiology center, as well as an intensive care unit for newborns, whose work will reduce the infant mortality rate, will operate on the territory of the single center.

Next, Askar Mamin inspected the development of the regional center and examined the administrative, social, cultural and historical facilities under construction.

The head of the Government visited the construction sites of the regional akimat’s buildings, media center, congress hall, Nur-Sultan Square, and a public service center. Among the social facilities, Askar Mamin examined the construction of sports and music schools, a college of tourism, a stadium, schoolchildren’s palaces and sports. In addition, the buildings under construction of the Kazakh Drama Theater, the Wedding Palace, as well as an amusement park, a musical fountain and an amphitheater were visited.

In the historical and cultural center of the city, the prime minister inspected the progress of work on the construction of the museum Khoja Yassawi Museum, center “Uly Dala Eli,” regional scientific and universal library, Eastern bathhouse, reconstruction of buildings of the National Center for Craftsmen of the Great Silk Road, visit center, restoration of historical sites of the ancient settlement Kultobe.

In addition, the prime minister visited the construction sites of the new park and the city Arbat.

In the city of Shymkent, Mamin visited the territory of city sewage treatment plants, where he inspected the work of the wastewater treatment system and the sludge treatment complex for generating electrical energy (biogas plant).

Mamin visited the first bus depot “Shymkent Bus,” where he heard the report on the organization of regular urban passenger traffic and the renewal of the rolling stock of local public transport.
