“As of today, Kazakhstan has provided access to 3 vaccines against coronavirus (Sputnik V, Sinopharm, QazVac). In addition, on behalf of the Head of State in the IV quarter of this year. delivery to Pfizer. At the same time, we will support the domestic vaccine, which is not inferior in efficiency to foreign analogues,” Tugzhanov said.

Last month, the QazVac vaccine was produced in the amount of 650 thousand doses, and 750 thousand doses are expected to be delivered this month.

Two production sites have been prepared:

Complete readiness of the biopharmaceutical plant in the Zhambyl region has been ensured;

On the basis of the Antigen enterprise, the second production site of the Research Center was launched with a full cycle of vaccine production, incl. QazVac.

This year for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, a special Law "On Biological Safety" will be adopted. It will create a legal framework for combating bio-threats.

It is planned to create a National Biosafety Forecasting System of the country. This will make it possible to carry out work on the protection against biological threats on a systematic basis.

“Another priority is the development of our own production of medicines and medical products. Today we provide ourselves with 17%. We will reach the 50% level by 2025. For this, a special Comprehensive Plan was adopted at the Government level,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

In addition, according to Tugzhanov, the material and technical equipment of the sanitary and epidemiological service will be strengthened in Kazakhstan. 12 laboratories will be equipped with high-tech equipment. This will make it possible to carry out laboratory studies of food products, children's toys, water and other products in order to identify toxic elements, salts and metals.

A Center for laboratory and technical testing of medical devices will also be created. This will allow testing medicines and medical devices for safety and quality in accordance with international standards.

In the post-pandemic period, the Government of Kazakhstan will pay special attention to a healthy lifestyle among the population.

In the national project "Healthy Nation" special attention is paid to a healthy lifestyle, specific measures are identified.

"This will allow by 2025 to increase the share of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan leading a healthy lifestyle to 45%," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Another priority is the introduction of new technologies in the healthcare sector and the construction of new modern hospitals. So, incl. Kazakhstan has become one of the countries in Central Asia where the Gamma Knife has been installed for effective and painless treatment of cancer. If earlier about 50 Kazakhstanis were sent abroad a year, and an average of 1 million tenge was spent per person, then since May of this year. 142 operations have already been performed on the basis of the Center for Neurosurgery.

In addition, modern medical centers will be built in each regional center and city of republican significance within the framework of PPP. The first world-class hospitals with the latest technologies are already being built in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Turkestan. Thus, in the future, without going abroad, Kazakhstanis will be able to receive high-quality treatment.
