Government proposes to expand benefits for domestic IT companies

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov chaired a regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures in Ukimet Uyi. The issue of support and development of the IT industry was discussed on the agenda of the meeting.

Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin noted that the relevant department is constantly analyzing the current situation and, together with the expert community, has developed a number of proposals to support the domestic information technology sector.

In particular, it is proposed to provide a deferment from military service for IT specialists, preferential loans for the implementation of domestic IT solutions, and the extension of tax preferences in the Astana Hub on the principle of extraterritoriality until 2029.

To promptly respond to incoming requests from IT specialists who are interested in working in Kazakhstan, a special working group has been created, which includes representatives of the international technopark of IT start-ups Astana Hub, NJSC Government for Citizens and akimats of the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty.

Thus, as part of the activities of the working group, communications have already been established with companies interested in relocation to Kazakhstan. To obtain up-to-date information, a website has been created with detailed instructions on the entry, stay and opening of companies, as well as on state support measures for the IT industry. A group has been created in social networks, where participants can get prompt answers to questions regarding doing business. Work has been established with relevant departments to provide support in the relocation of IT companies.

Summing up the results of the discussion, the head of the Government, Alikhan Smailov, instructed to work out the announced support measures with interested state bodies.
