Pfizer vaccine to be supplied to commercial segment of Kazakhstan’s market

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported on the stability of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The workload of infectious beds is 30%, intensive care beds — 27%.

Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions remain in the red zone in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection, in the yellow zone — the city of Nur-Sultan, Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay and Atyrau regions. The rest of the regions and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole are in the green zone.

To date, more than 8.5 million people have been vaccinated with the first component — this is 75% of the adult population, over 7.8 million people or 69% of the adult population — the second component.

Taking into account the increase in morbidity in most European countries, the Head of Government instructed to continue taking measures to ensure sanitary requirements and control their compliance by monitoring groups.

The Prime Minister noted the importance of ensuring the necessary coverage with vaccinations and revaccinations of the population.

“We are now expanding the categories of vaccinated on the recommendation of the WHO. Vaccination of adolescents, pregnant and lactating women has begun. For this, Pfizer's vaccine is distributed by region. I support the proposal on the possibility of supplying vaccines to the commercial segment of the market so that those who wish can make the vaccine they need for a fee,” Mamin said.

The start of revaccination in Kazakhstan is scheduled for Nov. 22, 2021. Citizens will be vaccinated for whom, depending on the type of previously supplied vaccine, 6-9 months have passed since the moment of vaccination with the second component.
