By 2020 Kazakhstan will be a country that has come out of the crisis as a stronger and more competitive state with diversified economy and people involved in a new economy.

Kazakhstan will join the top 50 most competitive countries of the world with favorable business climate allowing to attract essential foreign investments to non-primary sector of the economy by 2020. The country’s economy is expected to be more prepared to new economic crisis. Kazakhstan plans to strengthen its political and economic contacts with neighboring countries and other states.

By 2020 the country will possess human resources sufficient for development of diversified economy and have infrastructure necessary for domestic entrepreneurs and exporters. Continuous communication with other world countries is planned to be provided by intensive development of transport infrastructure and telecommunications. The manufacturing industry, agriculture and service sector of Kazakhstan will occupy a worthy place in the structure of the Kazakh economy along side with the ore mining industry. Essential results are expected to be achieved in the social sphere and environment protection.

The real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan will increase 1.3 times compared to the level of 2009. Due to successful implementation of plans on economic diversification the growth rates in the processing industry will exceed the growth rates in the extracting industry or be equal to it.

Due to sound macroeconomic policy, the assets of the National Fund will make not less than 30% of the GDP. The inflation rate is expected to be at the level of 5-8% by this period. The exchange rate policy will provide a balance between the internal and external competitiveness of the Kazakh economy.

The number of population with incomes below the subsistence minimum is expected to be reduced by 20% by 2020. Socially vulnerable layers of the society, people with disabilities, women, children and younger generation will be more protected and receive greater opportunities for development. Quality education of all levels is to be affordable all over the country. The health of the population will be essentially improved. The healthcare services are to meet the world standards. Two official languages of Kazakhstan – the Kazakh and the Russian languages – will be widely used in the society. The number of graduates speaking English language is planned to be increased. Various ethnic groups and representatives of different confessions will live in stability, security, peace and accord.
