Kanat Mussin

 

Kanat Mussin was born on Feb. 27, 1966, in Tselinograd. He graduated from Buketov Karaganda State University with a degree in Law, as a Senior Counselor of Justice.

He began his career in 1984 as a bailiff, secretary of the court session, archivist of the people's court of the Leninsky district of Tselinograd.

In 1986-1989, he was senior legal adviser at Tselinogradoblgaztop Production Association.

In 1989-1998, he was investigator, head of department, deputy prosecutor of the city of Astana, Akmola region.

In 1998-2001, he was Deputy Prosecutor of the North Kazakhstan region, First Deputy Prosecutor of the Zhambyl region.

From 2001 to 2007, he worked as Deputy Head of the Department for Combating Economic and Corruption Crime in the West Kazakhstan region, Almaty city.

In 2007-2010, he was Chief Expert, Chief Inspector, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Security Council.

In 2010-2012, he was First Deputy Prosecutor of the North Kazakhstan region.

In 2012-2016, he was Head of the Department of Justice of the city of Astana.

Since March 2016, he has been a member of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the sixth convocation.

From June 2021 to January 2022, he was Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chair of the Judicial Collegium for Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dated Jan. 11, 2022, he was appointed Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
