Timur Zhaksylykov appointed first vice minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

By the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Timur Zhaksylykov was appointed First Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Press Service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Timur Zhaksylykov was born in 1968 in the East Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in History, received a Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration at the Institute of Political Research, and a degree in Economic at Kazakh Financial and Economic Institute.

He began his labor activity in 1985 as a worker of the 2nd category of the East Kazakhstan Geological Department.

In 1993-1997, he was an executive rector of the Kazakhstan Agrotechnological University.

From 1997 to 1998, he worked as a chief specialist, head of a department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Strategic Planning and Reforms.

From 1998 to 2003, he worked in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2003-2004, he was director of the Department for Accession to the WTO of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2004-2005, he was head of the department, head of the group of representatives of the Ministry for WTO issues in the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Geneva of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From July to November 2005, he was first secretary of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From November 2005 to February 2006, he was managing director of the Center for Marketing and Analytical Research JSC.

From February to October 2006, he was acting general director of the RSE Institute for Economic Research of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From October 2006 to September 2007, he was director of the Center for Sustainable Development of the Capital LLP.

From September 2007 to April 2008, he was acting director, director of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning of Astana.

In 2008 - 2009, he was deputy akim of Astana.

In 2009 - 2010, he was vice minister of industry and trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From April to August 2010, he was chair of the Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2010 - 2012, he was chair of the Board of JSC Kazakhstan Investment Fund.

In 2012 - 2013, he was vice minister of economic development and trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2013 to 2014, he was vice minister of economy and budget planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2014–2017, he was vice minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2017–2018, he was minister for economy and financial policy, Eurasian Economic Commission, Moscow.

From September to November 2018, he was an assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From December 2019, he has been minister for economy and financial policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Moscow.
