Actual problems of Atyrau region development considered by government

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting to address pressing issues of development of the Atyrau region.

The issues of water supply of rural settlements, construction of bridges and roads of regional and district importance, multifunctional medical facility (including perinatal and oncology departments), reconstruction of sewage treatment plants, completion of repair work at the plant "Bolashak" and irrigation canals, additional funding to support agricultural formations, reduction of three-shift teaching, construction of educational facilities, etc. were discussed.

Presentations were made by Regional Akim Serik Shapkenov, Ministers of Industry and Infrastructural Development Kairbek Uskenbayev, Energy Bolat Akchulakov, Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, Education Askhat Aimagambetov, Vice Ministers of Environment, Geology and Natural Resources Zulfiya Suleimenova; Finance Tatyana Savelyeva, and Healthcare Zhandos Burkitbayev.

Minister of Industry said that this year for the construction and reconstruction of the local road network allocated 13.6 billion tenge: all types of construction and installation works covered 45 km of roads. By the end of the year their share in a normative condition is planned to reach 74%.

Prime Minister stressed that we need to accelerate work to improve the quality of roads, because now this figure in the region is one of the lowest in the country.

"If we do not accelerate the supply of bitumen now, it will be useless by winter. All decisions at the proper level have been made. This problem must be taken under daily control and the work must be accelerated," Alikhan Smailov said.

Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the state agencies in conjunction with the Akimat of the Atyrau region in a timely and fully finalize all reviewed issues.
