Alikhan Smailov instructs to complete reconstruction of Kokshetau’s water treatment facilities that started 13 years ago

As part of his working trip to the Akmola region, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov visited a number of important industrial and social facilities, and also assessed the progress in the development of the healthcare sector in the region.

Thus, the Head of the Government got acquainted with the activities of the district boiler house No. 2 of the State Enterprise "Kokshetau Zhylu". The boiler house with a production capacity of about 300 Gcal/h was put into operation in 1998.

The Prime Minister noted that during the heating season, technological violations were recorded at the heat sources of Kokshetau. There were also problems with the quality of drinking water.

“Heat supply is one of the significant issues for Kokshetau. It is necessary to actively promote the investment project for the construction of a thermal power plant, conduct competitive procedures, identify an investor and a financing model. The implementation of the project will take considerable time, so the region is faced with the task of carrying out high-quality repair work of existing heat sources in order to prepare for the upcoming heating season,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized.

The Ministry of Energy, together with the akimat, was instructed to work out the issue of purchasing social fuel oil.

In addition, the Head of Government focused on the fact that the project for the reconstruction of water treatment facilities in the regional center has been implemented for more than 13 years. In this regard, the Ministry of Industry, together with the Ministry of Finance and the akimat of the region, was instructed to work out the possibility of allocating funds from the budget to complete the work.

As part of his working trip, the Prime Minister also visited the new clinic and rehabilitation center of Viamedis LLP. On the basis of the center there is a polyclinic for 250 visits per shift, an inpatient rehabilitation department, a day, surgical and therapeutic hospitals.

After listening to the report on the development of the healthcare sector in the region, Alikhan Smailov pointed to an increase in overall mortality in the region — by 10.3%. A similar situation is observed in maternal mortality and mortality from diseases of the circulatory system.

“Akimat needs to pay special attention to solving these problems, as well as to intensify work to attract young personnel to the healthcare sector,” the Head of Government instructed.

Another point of the Prime Minister's working trip was a visit to the Novopek LLP factory for the production of various types of polypropylene containers. The enterprise is equipped with modern equipment. According to the production technology, the factory meets all the requirements of world standards and has a UN certificate for the production of heavy containers. The company's products are in demand in the domestic market, as well as in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. In the future, it is planned to enter the markets of other CIS countries.

Alikhan Smailov noted that the Government continues to work on diversifying the economy, expanding the range and complexity of manufactured goods, as well as providing domestic producers with raw materials.

Further, Alikhan Smailov got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise for the procurement, processing and sale of a wide range of dairy products, Gormolzavod LLP.

“Traditionally, the Akmola region is one of the main regions for food production. In this direction, we are seeing positive dynamics today. Thanks to the forage capabilities of the region, it is possible to actively develop dairy farming, including the processing of relevant products,” the Prime Minister noted.

Alikhan Smailov added that the Government purposefully reduces the volume of imports of dairy products, stimulating domestic producers to saturate the domestic market.

“For this, all measures of state support to subsidize selection and breeding work and reduce the cost of milk production have been preserved. The akimat of the region, together with the relevant Ministry, needs to pay special attention to the workload of the region's milk processing enterprises,” the Prime Minister instructed.
