Alikhan Smailov tells foreign entrepreneurs about benefits of industrial cooperation with Kazakhstan

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov got acquainted with INNOPROM XII International Industrial Exhibition and spoke at its opening. The exhibition on the theme "Industrial transition: From challenges to new opportunities" takes place from 4 to 7 July in Yekaterinburg.

INNOPROM is one of the largest industrialization exhibitions held in Russia. This year, the partner country of the event was the Republic of Kazakhstan. The traditional format of participation of the partner country includes a large-scale national exposition, business and cultural programs. In this regard, the area of ​​the Kazakh exposition amounted to 1600 square meters. m, which housed about 200 domestic companies representing all industries.

After reviewing the exposition of the exhibition pavilions, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, together with the Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition and the plenary session "Industrial transition: Leaders’ experience."

In his speech, the Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that it has become a good tradition for delegates from Kazakhstan to meet at this site and discuss the prospects for industrial development, exchange constructive proposals and opinions, and find mutually acceptable solutions on many issues.

“I would like to especially note the high dynamics of cooperation between our countries in the field of industrial cooperation. A significant impetus to this was given by the implementation of the Program of Joint Actions in the field of Kazakh-Russian industrial cooperation,” said Alikhan Smailov.

Thus, 13 major projects worth about $450 million have already been jointly implemented, including the production of cars, electric locomotives and tractors. Another 9 major joint projects totaling $3 billion are under implementation.

“Today, the enterprises of Kazakhstan and Russia are already fully prepared for the implementation of innovative industrial projects. Therefore, I will especially note the importance of signing a new Joint Action Program, which involves cooperation on 23 more projects in 7 industries,” the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized.

Alikhan Smailov recalled that Kazakhstan and Russia have already begun to cooperate on the creation of an updated technological base aimed at cooperation in scientific, technical, innovation and production areas.

For this, according to the Head of Government, Kazakhstan has the necessary legal and institutional framework to stimulate industrial growth, including a mechanism for ensuring a sufficient amount of raw materials and an instrument for long-term contracts.

In addition, the goals, objectives and functions of the Industrial Development Fund have been revised: its work will be focused on leasing financing for the purchase of equipment and machinery, as well as lending to industrial and innovative projects at a preferential rate.

“In general, these measures will contribute to the rise of high-tech industries and the production of competitive products. Therefore, historically developed bilateral ties, a powerful resource base, as well as the advantages of our economic integration should be fully utilized,” Alikhan Smailov stressed.

At the end of his speech, he expressed confidence that the promotion of industrial cooperation will only work for the benefit of Kazakhstan and Russia, and mutually beneficial cooperation will become a stable support for further economic growth.

For reference: this year, the INNOPROM exhibition will feature national expositions of Iran, Belarus, Uzbekistan and individual companies from China, Hungary, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Official delegations from Austria, Turkey, Armenia, Serbia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Iraq, countries of Africa and Central Asia are expected.
