Interdepartmental Commission to tighten sanitary and quarantine measures in Kazakhstan
Meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Infection in Kazakhstan was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of state bodies and the management of regions. On the agenda were questions on the deterioration of the epidemiological situation and the circulation of the Omicron strain.
Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat delivered a report. She noted that the epidemiological situation is deteriorating. Over the past 24 hours alone, more than 4,000 people have been identified with a positive PCR test. Already 4 regions have returned to the red zone.
The Interdepartmental Commission decided to tighten sanitary and quarantine measures to contain the spread of infection. In particular:
To extend the rule on allowing entry to the mall, trading houses and karaoke only to persons with a green status;
From Jan. 13, taking into account the circulation of the omicron strain, entry to SPA, sports and fitness centers only with a green status;
From Jan. 15, it is mandatory to have a negative PCR test for all arrivals from abroad, regardless of vaccination status.
It was also proposed to strengthen restrictive measures in the cities of the red zone of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and in the Atyrau region. These include:
A ban on holding mass events, with the exception of commemorations at Ashyq facilities, with the participation of 30 people;
A ban on the activities of entertainment, cultural institutions, on holding religious rites and all kinds of conferences and seminars;
Reducing the number of catering guests at one table to 4 people;
Online format for teaching schoolchildren until Jan. 31, 2022, teaching students of higher educational institutions and universities of all courses until Feb. 6, 2022;
Transferring the work of educational centers, extracurricular activities for children and adults to an online format;
At least 70% of employees of state bodies, national companies and enterprises should switch to remote work;
Increasing the number of public transport for allowing to maintain social distance.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the akimats to increase the pace of vaccination and revaccination of citizens, to pay special attention to monitoring compliance with the measures taken by the Government.
