Government commission to assess damage from fire and explosions in Zhambyl region

In pursuance of the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, by order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, the Government Commission was created to eliminate the consequences of fire and explosions that occurred on Aug. 26, 2021, at an ammunition depot in the Bayzak district of the Zhambyl region.

The commission chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar included akim of Zhambyl region Berdibek Saparbayev, Ministerof Defense Nurlan Yermekbayev, Minister of Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin, Vice Minister of Internal Affairs Murat Baimukashev, vice ministers of labor and social protection of the population, healthcare, industry and infrastructure development and other central government agencies.

The Commission was tasked with assessing the damage and eliminating the consequences of fire and explosions, restoring damaged infrastructure, and providing social support to the victims.
